Middlemarch are delighted by the news that West Dorset District Council has given the go ahead for British Solar Renewables’ solar park at Holly Farm, Owermoigne. This will be the third project that Middlemarch has helped British Solar Renewables win consent for.
Middlemarch are particularly pleased to be able to continue helping BSR secure results such as this against a difficult political backdrop, with Government policy seemingly intent on scaling back support for the renewable energy sector – including solar power.
Once operational, the 5MW project will generate enough power to meet the annual electricity demands of over 1,100 average UK households. It has an anticipated lifetime of 25 years, after which the site can be fully restored to its original state with a minimum of disturbance. The Middlemarch team adopted a “hands on” approach to informing the local residents of the benefits associated with Holly Farm, including how it will support the diversification of a local farming business.
