Kettering Borough Council Give Unanimous Approval for Burton Wold Wind Farm South
Wind developers Infinergy appointed Middlemarch Communications to provide public liaison support for their revised layout plans for Burton Wold Wind Farm South in Kettering, Northamptonshire. At the planning meeting on Wednesday 11 March, Kettering Borough Council green-lighted the project, voting unanimously (8–0) in favour of the plans. Burton Latimer Town Council also did not raise any objection to the plans.
Infinergy’s Project Manager Kari Clouston said: “I am very pleased with the way Middlemarch has helped us in the interaction with Burton Latimer Town Council and Kettering Borough Council. Their expertise in building relationships and encouraging constructive dialogue has been instrumental in obtaining this fantastic result.”
The revised plans reduce the number of wind turbines from the originally consented five to three, and increase the tip height from 100m to 136.5m. This increase in height ensures efficient use of the available wind resource at the site and will boost the expected annual power output by approximately 20%.
